Fred VanVleet Under 20.5 Points (-116)

Fred VanVleet has a difficult matchup for scoring tonight. Actually, it's the most difficult matchup he can have.

He's taking on the Miami Heat, a team that has limited the point guard position to a league-low 21.4 points per game. Miami is permitting a league-low 18.5 field-goal attempts per night to floor generals.

On top of the matchup, VanVleet's usage rate over the last five games is just 22.7%, which is good for only the third-highest clip on the Toronto Raptors.

Our model projects FVV for 20.1 points, and the under looks like the side to be on.

Patrick Beverley Over 8.5 Points (-122)

This is contingent on Patrick Beverley playing and D'Angelo Russell sitting, which is reportedly what will likely be the case for this clash with the Denver Nuggets.

With Russell off the floor and while sharing the court with Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, Beverley's usage rate is only 14.5%, per RotoGrinders' CourtIQ. But what pushes me to the over is the friendly matchup.

Denver has struggled against point guards this year, allowing 25.8 points per game to the position, the eighth-most. They've surrendered 8.8 three-point tries per game to point guards, the fifth-most.

Not counting an injury-shortened game last time out, Pat Bev has taken at least four three-pointers in seven of his past eight games -- scoring at least nine points six times in that span.

We project him to record 9.6 points in this one.

Wendell Carter Under 0.5 Made Three-Pointers (+154)

Wendell Carter Jr. has gone without a made triple in half of his last six games, including two of the past three. He's attempted more than three shots from beyond the arc just once in his last six games, and he's shooting only 34.2% from three this season.

His matchup is a tough one for threes, as well.

Carter is taking on the Chicago Bulls. Chicago is permitting a three-point attempt rate of 36.9%, the fourth-lowest.

We forecast Carter to make 0.9 three-pointers. With the under on this prop priced at +154 and the over at -194, I'm rolling the dice on Carter to go without a made three-pointer.
