Daily Fantasy Basketball Injury Report: Friday 1/20/17

It's a lighter night of injuries even with nine games on the slate, but there are still situations to monitor.

It's almost as if the DFS gods are sparing us tonight. The injury report is surprisingly short for a nine-game Friday night in mid-January.

However, there are bound to still be surprises, so make sure you know about some of the bigger injury news coming into tonight before locking in your lineups.

Notable Injuries

Sacramento Kings

Rudy Gay was almost surely going to be traded before the deadline, but now that seems unlikely. The veteran swingman suffered a ruptured Achilles and will miss the remainder of the season for the Sacramento Kings.

It's a tough blow for the Kings, too, who are now almost certainly a lottery team once again. The Kings will probably turn to Matt Barnes in the starting lineup, but Garrett Temple and Arron Afflalo should get some more run.

Also, if Ty Lawson is out again tonight, Darren Collison is still in play with the Gay injury.

Los Angeles Lakers

Luol Deng skipped the contact portion of shootaround this morning, and after missing Wednesday's game, he is questionable tonight. If he misses again, Brandon Ingram should get another shot at starting in his place.

There is also the possibility we could see Larry Nance Jr. back tonight. He has practiced with the team for two straight days, but we are yet to hear an update on his status tonight. If he plays, the Los Angeles Lakers will likely bring him along slowly, but keep an eye out for updates on him because he could return to close full minutes if Deng misses.

George Hill, Utah Jazz

Even the smallest injury to George Hill is cause for concern after his first half, but even after tweaking his ankle, he looks probable to play tonight.

Evan Fournier, Orlando Magic

Not only will the Orlando Magic be without Evan Fournier on Friday night, but they will also miss Jodie Meeks for the next four to six weeks as well. Elfrid Payton is going to need to step up, while C.J. Watson and maybe even Mario Hezonja will see some expanded roles until Fournier's return.

Ryan Anderson, Houston Rockets

Ryan Anderson has missed the last few games for the Houston Rockets, but with the Golden State Warriors coming to town, Anderson participated in shootaround this morning. He is still officially questionable, but it appears he is trending towards playing tonight.

Taj Gibson, Chicago Bulls

Taj Gibson looks like he will play tonight. Feel free to deploy him as usual coming off missing one contest after a couple of huge games this past weekend.

Lesser Injuries

Toronto Raptors

The Toronto Raptors could be a little light tonight in their frontcourt. DeMarre Carroll will play tonight, but Lucas Nogueira and Patrick Patterson both look like they'll be out. If that's the case, Pascal Siakam should see some more minutes. However, it's more likely they go small with Norman Powell and Terrence Ross getting a few more minutes.

Jeremy Lamb, Charlotte Hornets

Jeremy Lamb is still not ready to play on Friday night, which will continue opening up minutes for Marco Belinelli.

Ed Davis, Portland Trail Blazers

Ed Davis is probable for the Portland Trail Blazers so Meyers Leonard and Noah Vonleh both should be downgraded.

David West, Golden State Warriors

David West has a fractured thumb, and he'll be out for at least the next few weeks. The Golden State Warriors don't need West right now anyway, so look for them to give some extra run to Kevon Looney while West recovers.
