NBA Daily Fantasy Helper: Saturday 1/14/17
If you're new to daily fantasy basketball -- maybe you started your DFS journey during the MLB or NFL seasons, or maybe basketball is your sport and this will be your first year giving it a shot -- you're in for a treat. The NBA scene changes hugely on a week-to-week, day-to-day, and depending on injury news, even a minute-to-minute basis, making every slate a unique one that requires an ever-changing approach.
With so much changing so quickly, we're here with plenty of tools to help you out. We have daily projections, a matchup heat map, a lineup optimizer and a handful of other awesome tools to help give you an edge.
We'll also be coming at you with a primer every day, breaking down a few of the day's top plays at each price point.
Let's take a look at who you should target on today's slate.
Best of the Best
Anthony Davis ($11,500): Davis is likely to return to the lineup on Saturday, and on a day without many strong high-priced plays, he becomes a top option on the slate almost by default. He ranks third in the league with 52.2 FanDuel points per game this season, and he has a big 34.2% usage rate in 34.8 minutes per game over the past month, averaging 26.6 points and 14.0 rebounds per game in that span. Tonight's matchup is a fairly neutral one -- the Chicago Bulls are allowing middle-of-the-pack fantasy production to power forwards this season -- but with Davis' explosive upside and the makeup of this slate, that's good enough for him to project as the top fantasy scorer on the slate, which is exactly what our models have done for today.
