Dodgers confident they'll land top-flight starter
The Los Angeles Dodgers are "increasingly confident" they will acquire Yu Darvish, Sonny Gray or Justin Verlander, according to MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
What It Means:
With Brandon McCarthy and Clayton Kershaw dealing with injuries, the Dodgers are in need of starting pitching help more than ever. If and when Kershaw returns to health and they land a big-time arm, the Dodgers will head a short list of World Series favorites.
Darvish, Verlander and Gray all rank within the top 30 in WAR among starting pitchers. Darvish leads the trio with a 2.4 WAR in 2017.
