3 MLB Prop Bets to Target on Tuesday 9/6/22

Player props can be useful in a variety of ways -- from taking advantage of them straight up (to the tune of cold hard cash) to measuring a player's potential to produce in daily fantasy baseball on FanDuel. Here, we're going to focus on the former.

Utilizing our projections as a guide and looking at the odds provided at FanDuel Sportsbook, here are some spots where you can find value today in the prop-betting market.

Here are some MLB player prop bets to make tonight.

Please note that betting lines and our game projections may change throughout the day after this article is published. Also, the weather may be an issue in some locations.

Paul Goldschmidt To Hit a Home Run (+330)/Nolan Arenado To Hit a Home Run (+320)

The St. Louis Cardinals have a solid 4.49 implied team total and a great matchup tonight.

A soft matchup against Paolo Espino should put several of the Cardinals' hitters in a great spot tonight and plenty of props to consider. Espino comes in allowing a .512 SLG, .351 wOBA, 4.14 xFIP, 2.26 HR/9, 45.7% fly-ball rate, and 33.9% hard-contact rate to right-handed hitters.

Those are some of the worst numbers you will find on tonight's slate and that leads us directly to Paul Goldschmidt for a home run prop. Goldy is elite this season with a 164 wRC+, .401 wOBA, .246 ISO, 40.8% fly-ball rate, and a 34.1% hard-contact rate versus right-handed pitchers.

Next up is Nolan Arenado, who comes in with a 155 wRC+, .389 wOBA, .223 ISO, 46.7% fly-ball, and 32.5% hard-contact rate versus right-handed pitchers.

It's a great matchup for two of the best hitters in the National League, so I'm adding Goldschmidt To Record an RBI (+120) and Arenado To Record an RBI (+120).

Kyle Wright Over 5.5 Strikeouts (+108)

For a strikeout prop, we're heading out to the West Coast.

The Atlanta Braves will have Kyle Wright on the mound tonight as they visit the Oakland Athletics. Throughout the season, Wright is carrying a 24.0% strikeout rate and a 12.1% swinging-strike rate, both of which are higher than the league average.

Wright has pushed that strikeout rate even higher in some recent starts, posting a 29.2% and 33.3% strikeout rate in two of his last three outings. That has led to him racking up six strikeouts or more in three straight starts, which is a very encouraging sign heading into tonight's matchup.

The Athletics come in with a 23.5% strikeout rate versus right-handed pitchers (eighth-worst in the league). This is truly a strong matchup for Wright, so adding Wright 7+ Strikeouts (+210).

Alex Bregman To Record an RBI (+145)

With a 4.55 implied run total, the Houston Astros should be scoring plenty of runs tonight.

They have a juicy matchup against Glenn Otto, a below-average pitcher we should be excited to target for player props. This season, Otto is allowing a .400 SLG, .341 wOBA, 4.98 xFIP, 1.21 HR/9, 10.8% walk rate, and 34.2% hard-contact rate versus right-handed hitters.

We turn to Alex Bregman, with his 159 wRC+, .390 wOBA, .234 ISO, and 48.1% fly-ball rate versus right-handed pitchers.

Bregman has put together a very strong second half of the season and with this soft matchup, it's reasonable to sprinkle a little on Bregman 2+ RBI (+480).
