NBA FanDuel Value Plays to Target on 4/16/21

One of the keys to finding success in daily fantasy basketball is uncovering potential value plays. If you're looking to roster a stud player or two, you need to consider squeezing in one of these lower-salaried options into your lineup.

Let's take a look at three players who can help fill in the gaps in your lineup.

Malachi Flynn, PG, Toronto Raptors ($5,500)

While the Toronto Raptors are doing a bit of tanking -- I mean developing young players -- Malachi Flynn will continue to be a value option.

The Raptors haven't had the season many anticipated, and this has put them in a spot where they are resting Kyle Lowry, OG Anunoby, and Pascal Siakam today on top of having Gary Trent Jr. and DeAndre Bembry listed as doubtful. This means Flynn should be in the starting lineup again. Big minutes will be nothing new as he has logged 30 or more minutes in seven of his last eight games.

This contest has an over/under of just 214.0 points, but the matchup for Flynn is very soft. The Orlando Magic are allowing the third-most (50.42) FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards.

Monte Morris, PG, Denver Nuggets ($5,100)

With Jamal Murray out of the year, Monte Morris has been thrust into the starting lineup.

In the first game with Murray out, Morris was able to go for only 17.6 FanDuel points in 26 minutes the other night against the Miami Heat, but don't worry about that. That game had both teams in the bottom five of the league in offense pace, along with Miami allowing the fourth-fewest (44.41) FanDuel points per game to opposing point guards. Simply forget about it.

Tonight, things are much different for Morris, and it's shaping up to be a fantastic spot for fantasy production. The Nuggets (26th in pace) are taking on the Houston Rockets (6th in pace), giving Morris a big pace-up spot. And the Rockets are allowing the sixth-most (49.99) FanDuel points per game to point guards. Don't bring any recency bias into this matchup; trust Morris in an easy spot.

Steven Adams, C, New Orleans Pelicans ($4,800)

With an over/under of 240.0 points, the New Orleans Pelicans-Washington Wizards matchup is a game we need exposure to.

While there are plenty of top-tier studs in this game, there are also plenty of value options to consider, such as Steven Adams. Adams holds a low 11.7% usage rate, but he is producing 0.93 FanDuel points per minute in the Pelicans' starting lineup.

That is solid production from a player under $5,000, and given the matchup, he should be able to exceed that tonight. The Wizards come into this game allowing 58.28 FanDuel points per game to opposing centers, which is the most in the league. So while everyone might be looking to Zion Williamson or Russell Westbrook in this clash, Adams is a low-salary way to get exposure to the dreamy game environment.
