J.D. Martinez, OF, Boston Red Sox

Price: $5,000

On the other side of things, the slate's highest implied total (4.62 runs) belongs to the Boston Red Sox as they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Zack Godley.

Godley, after posting an encouraging 3.67 SIERA in 2017, fell back in line with his numbers from his first two major league seasons in 2018, notching a 4.18 SIERA over 33 games. His strikeout rate remained reasonable, at 23.4%, but his walk rate climbed to 10.2%.

His hard-hit rate also climbed to 38.4%, leaving some serious room for upside for opposing hitters.

J.D. Martinez is always going to be a threat for big upside, and not many hitters make the kind of hard contact that he does. He's opened 2019 with a 46.4% hard-hit rate while having yet to make soft contact, and that's after notching hard-hit rates of 49.0% and 44.9% and soft-hit rates of 14.0% and 10.9% in 2017 and 2018, respectively. Since the start of the 2018 season he is tied for the seventh-highest average exit velocity among the 486 hitters with at least 50 batted-ball events.
