The Toronto Blue Jays have scored three runs or fewer in six of their eight games to start the season, and on Friday their 3.44 implied total is the main slate's lowest.

It's still a little early in the season to read too much into the small-sample numbers, but their 12.0% swinging-strike rate is higher than average, and they sit bottom-five with a 29.8% hard-hit rate while their 19.7% soft-hit rate is the 10th highest. Whiffing often and making poor contact when you don't whiff isn't exactly a productive combination.

Shane Bieber looked impressive in his first major league season in 2018, despite what his 4.55 ERA may lead you to believe. The high ERA came with a 3.45 skill-interactive ERA (SIERA), while he posted a 24.7% strikeout rate and 4.7% walk rate.

Bieber and the Cleveland Indians are the second-biggest favorites on the slate (-152 moneyline), positioning him well to score a win while the Jays' low implied total and strikeout-happy ways mean he's got both a strong floor and high ceiling here.
