Combined, Freddie Freeman and Anthony Rizzo are likely to see a good amount of the ownership at catcher/first base, but paying up for the Cubbies' slugger may not prove to be a wise move for your lineups.

A season ago, Rizzo struggled in same-sided matchups, and he will face a southpaw tonight in Atlanta Braves starter Max Fried. Over 165 plate appearances, Rizzo posted mediocre totals of a .302 wOBA, .121 ISO, and 32.2% hard-hit rate versus lefties.

Fried has pitched just 17.1 innings versus lefties, but he's got a sparkling 35.1% strikeout rate in the split while allowing a 27.8% hard-hit rate and 13.9% fly-ball rate.

It's a good time to take a breather from Rizzo.
