3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 9/4/18

With Miles Mikolas getting his start bumped to tomorrow, John Gant will be take the mound against the Washington Nationals tonight instead. Due to the change, we've seen the Nats' implied team total jump to 4.89, and on a large slate with Coors, the masses may overlook the opportunity to get in on this improved matchup.

Gant is posting a solid 3.34 ERA, but a 4.62 SIERA, 20.2% strikeout rate and 10.6% walk rate suggests regression, and against lefty bats he's allowing a massive 56.6% hard-hit rate and 40.4% fly-ball rate. While we don't have a large sample size to go off, Gant hasn't really done anything over his young career to give us pause, so rolling out the likes of Bryce Harper is a worthwhile pivot off the chalkier bats on the Colorado Rockies and Cleveland Indians.

Harper's mid-summer slump looks to be a thing of the past, so we can confidently deploy a guy posting a .394 xwOBA, 42.6% hard-hit rate, 41.4% fly-ball rate, and .276 ISO versus right-handed pitching this season.
