Austin Hedges, C, San Diego Padres

A near minimum-priced play can be tempting, but against resurgent righty German Marquez of the Colorado Rockies, Austin Hedges should be avoided.

Marquez has been brilliant over recent starts, recording a 2.57 ERA and 2.71 xFIP since June 30th (66 2/3 innings pitched), but his true dominance has been against same-sided bats all year. This season, he has held them to a .270 wOBA, including a 32.6% strikeout rate and 28.1% fly-ball rate.

Hedges has not fared well in this split, either, as he's only hit righties for a .305 wOBA and 27.7% strikeout rate, making him an easy choice to avoid.
