3 Under-the-Radar MLB FanDuel Plays for 8/27/18

Tyler White, 1B, Houston Astros

We have a slew of potential first base options tonight at various price points, but don't rule out Tyler White, who is raking for the Houston Astros and has now moved up to cleanup in his last three starts. Since getting called up from Triple-A at the end of July, he's producing a 39.7% hard-hit rate, .347 ISO, and .401 expected weighed on-base average (xwOBA).

Meanwhile, left-hander Brett Anderson might be holding his own through 12 starts, but he's still showing an unimposing 4.35 SIERA and 13.1% strikeout rate. He's inducing ground balls at a 55.7% clip, which does give us some pause, but he's allowing a reasonable amount of hard contact (35.6%) and the Astros are drawing a solid 4.54 implied team total.

Assuming George Springer is back in the lineup, this Houston squad will have all its stars back, and they could have sneaky upside tonight. White will be a great way to gain cheap exposure at what should be lower ownership.
