Brandon Belt, 1B, San Francisco Giants

FanDuel Price: $2,500

At such a cheap price, many may gravitate towards Brandon Belt so they can spend up elsewhere. However, this isn't the spot to use him.

The NL SIERA leader through about three weeks of play isn't Clayton Kershaw or Max Scherzer -- it's Belt's Tuesday pitching matchup, the Arizona Diamondbacks' Patrick Corbin.

Corbin has been ridiculous this year, striking out 40.9% of the batters he has faced. That strikeout rate is backed up by a 17.9% swinging-strike rate, and even when opposing hitters make contact, they have mustered just a 21.6% fly-ball rate against him in 2018.

As a southpaw, Corbin has been tough on left-handed batters throughout his career, even prior to his breakout this season. Left-handed batters have a .284 wOBA, 30.3% strikeout rate, and just a 24.1% fly-ball rate against Corbin in his career. A left-handed bat such as Belt -- who has dealt with strikeout issues so far this season (32.7% strikeout rate and 14.0% swinging-strike rate) -- has too low of a floor to even consider rostering against Corbin.
