4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/28/17
Earlier this month, Stephen Strasburg ($10,300) would probably be a shoo-in for cash games tonight, but he's suddenly difficult to trust after three lackluster starts despite an otherwise stellar 3.53 SIERA and 27.5% strikeout rate. He gets the Chicago Cubs, who have a 3.75 implied team total.
The trouble is that anyone you pivot to has questions of his own. Yu Darvish ($9,700) shut down the New York Yankees his last time out, but has a tough matchup with the Cleveland Indians. Masahiro Tanaka ($8,900) put up a gem against the Texas Rangers, and is in a good spot against the Chicago White Sox, but can we trust him to remain consistent moving forward? Zack Godley ($8,100) has put together a fine season with an elite 59.9% ground-ball rate (although the game is at Chase Field), but the St. Louis Cardinals have a higher than we like 4.47 implied team total.
It might make you a little queasy, but Strasburg is probably the "safest" choice.
As is the routine in this space, we try to narrow down your choices to help you find the best DFS plays. Here are four guys to consider avoiding in tonight's lineups.
