4 Daily Fantasy Baseball Players to Avoid on 6/23/17

Andrew McCutchen is in the midst of a hot June, but his price is beginning to get out of hand. Who else should you avoid in MLB DFS?

He may lack the name value of some of the other pitchers on the Friday slate, but it might be hard to pass up Alex Wood ($9,500) in a nice home matchup against the Colorado Rockies.

Wood has been lights out in 2017 with a 2.62 SIERA -- better than either Max Scherzer or Clayton Kershaw, albeit in fewer innings. Add in a 29.8% strikeout rate and a slight discount to the other top options, and you have a winning combination.

However, the one concern with Wood is he doesn't always pitch deep into games. He's yet to throw 100 pitches in a start this year.

If that worries you, then Stephen Strasburg ($10,900) and Chris Archer ($10,400) are strong alternatives. Michael Fulmer ($10,100) is a bit pricey, and his punchouts are down lately, but he's viable against everyone's favorite strikeout enhancer, the San Diego Padres.

You can also consider Yu Darvish ($9,400) in tournaments. He's incredibly risky against the New York Yankees, but makes for an upside contrarian play.

With every team going tonight, we have a ton of options to choose from. Here are four to consider eliminating from your short lists.
