Max Kepler, OF, Minnesota Twins

FanDuel Price: $3,400

Last season, Martin Perez had a 5.11 SIERA, and a poor 12.1% strikeout rate. He's bumped the strikeouts up a little so far this year (17.6%), but the SIERA isn't much better (4.99). He's uncharacteristically not getting the ground balls he's used to (40.3%), and is giving up a ton of hard contact (41.3%).

Whether this is the new Perez or he returns to last year's form, he's an appealing matchup for the Minnesota Twins.

However, that's reserved for their right-handed hitters. Perez has always shown reasonable strikeout ability against southpaws in his career (20.9%), keeps the ball on the ground (54.2%), and limits hard contact (23.4%). Even with any changes in Perez's approach, he should continue to have success versus lefties.

With that in mind, if you're stacking the Twins, it might be best to leave the left-handed Max Kepler out of it. In 154 plate appearances against same-side pitchers, he has a 26% strikeout rate and hits the ball on the ground 51.5% of the time. Don't force the issue and stick with the righties.
