A.J. Pollock, OF, Arizona Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks take on pedestrian right-hander Jhoulys Chacin this evening, but it's not as juicy a matchup for same-side bats as you might think.

Last year, Chacin had his highest strikeout rate against lefties since 2011. Trouble is, it was still only 13.6%. Needless to say, lefty bats are definitely in play against him.

But he performed much better against righties, with an excellent 24.1% strikeout rate and 27.8% hard-hit rate. Expanding the time frame, he maintained a 22.8% strikeout rate from 2014 to 2016.

Adding in the fact that their playing in pitcher-friendly Petco Park, and it's not an appealing spot for A.J. Pollock and the D-Backs' other right-handed bats.
