3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamer Options for Week 17

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Brock Purdy, 49ers

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 37%

Over the past three weeks, Brock Purdy is the QB9 by points per game, averaging 19.4 fantasy points in that span. He can cap off his late-season surge with a good showing in Championship Week.

Purdy gets a superb matchup against the Las Vegas Raiders. Vegas has allowed 18.8 fantasy points per game to signal-callers, the sixth-most. They rank second-worst in both overall D and pass defense, per our metrics.

The San Francisco 49ers have an implied total of 25.0 points and will likely move the ball well. Purdy should be in for a good fantasy day. We project him to score 16.3 fantasy points and rank him as this week's QB12.

Daniel Jones, Giants

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 63%

Daniel Jones has quietly had a nice fantasy campaign. He's the QB9 by raw points and the QB13 in points per game (among quarterbacks with at least five starts). He's posted at least 19.3 fantasy points in two of his last three games, and he's got a decent home matchup this week to keep it rolling.

Jones and the New York Giants are taking on the Indianapolis Colts. Indy isn't a bad defense, but they aren't a unit we need to shy away from. For the season, they're permitting the 14th-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (16.3). They're also on a short week after playing on Monday night.

Rushing is a big part of Jones' fantasy appeal. He's run for at least 26 yards in each of his previous four games, including a spike week of 71 rushing yards. He has four other games of 50-plus rushing yards in 2022.

We project him to total 16.5 points this week. He's our QB11.

Gardner Minshew, Eagles

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 28%

As of Tuesday morning, it seems like Jalen Hurts has a chance to play, with the Philadelphia Eagles refusing to rule out their star quarterback. But if Hurts sits again, Gardner Minshew is an excellent streaming option.

Minshew played well last week in a difficult road matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, throwing for 355 yards and two scores. If he starts this week, he'll take on the New Orleans Saints in a home game. The Eagles are currently 6.5-point favorites with a 25.0-point implied total.

Minshew offers a little juice as a runner, too. He ran for only five yards last week, but he had four rushing attempts. Across 20 starts (23 games) with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he averaged 21.6 rushing yards per game.
