3 Fantasy Football Quarterback Streamer Options for Week 12

Quarterback streaming isn't for everyone, but if you're in a standard league -- like a 10- or 12-team league that features just one starting signal caller -- grabbing potentially productive quarterbacks in good matchups off the waiver wire is often doable.

Sure, you won't have the luxury of setting it and forgetting it with Patrick Mahomes as your quarterback, but when the top-end signal-callers draw a tough matchup, their upside can oftentimes be matched by a waiver-wire option in a more favorable situation.

If you're looking for some quarterback options from the waiver wire -- regardless of league size -- we have you covered. Here are three quarterbacks rostered in fewer than roughly 40% of Yahoo leagues who are in good spots this week.

Taylor Heinicke, Commanders

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 14%

Taylor Heinicke is at home versus the Atlanta Falcons, and he's the week's top streamer.

Atlanta is a great matchup. They have given up the eighth-most fantasy points per game to quarterbacks (18.9). Our schedule-adjusted metrics rank Atlanta as the third-world overall defense and the second-worst pass D.

Heinicke has been solid in real life, but it hasn't yet translated to much fantasy success as he's scored 7.84 and 6.44 fantasy points in the last two weeks. But he's due for some positive touchdown regression. He hasn't scored a touchdown over the past two games despite throwing for a total of 402 yards.

We project Heinicke for 15.22 fantasy points this week and rate him as the QB14.

Zach Wilson, Jets

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 7%

I'm writing up Zach Wilson knowing full well that he may not start this week, with New York Jets coach Robert Saleh declining to name a starter at his Monday press conference. But whoever the Jets start under center against the Chicago Bears is going to have some streaming appeal.

The Bears have been brutal defensively. We have them as the sixth-worst defense and the fifth-worst pass defense. They've surrendered 24, 30, 32 and 29 points in the past four games.

The Jets are coming off a truly horrific offensive performance, and while it won't be fun to put Wilson -- or Mike White/Joe Flacco -- in your quarterback slot, Gang Green's offense figures to bounce back in this friendly matchup. They have a solid 23.0-point implied total, which is the 11th-highest of the week.

Our model forecasts Wilson to score 15.21 fantasy points in Week 12.

Jared Goff, Lions

Yahoo Roster Percentage: 51%

Jared Goff is rostered in a few too many leagues for this article, but on a difficult week for quarterback streamers, I wanted to give him a mention.

Goff is at home against the Buffalo Bills. The game has a 53.0-point total, and the Detroit Lions' implied total is a respectable 22.0. The Lions are 9.5-point underdogs and should have to air it out early and often to keep pace with the Bills, who figure to move the ball at will against Detroit's shoddy defense.
