New York Giants Passing Offense

This seems to be setting up as a game in which Eli Manning either throws five touchdowns or five interceptions. Maybe even both. Considering how the Miami Dolphins' pass defense has fared this year, I'm leaning more towards the positive side of that projection for the New York Giants' signal caller.

Although things in Miami have gone slightly better since the coaching change, they are still 30th in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. Every quarterback that has faced Miami this year and finished the game has finished with at least 14.3 FanDuel points outside of Kirk Cousins. The list of those who did top that mark includes efficiency savant Matt Schaub, who threw for 308 yards last week. Manning can top that.

Even though I still wouldn't associate Manning with consistency, he ranks eight in Passing NEP per drop back of the 40 quarterbacks with at least 100 drop backs on the season. This puts him ahead of Brian Hoyer and Ryan Fitzpatrick, who threw for three and four touchdowns respectively against the Dolphins.

The other thing working in Manning's favor this week is Vegas. The over/under on this game started at 46, but it had crept up to 47 by Wednesday afternoon. With an even spread, the game appears to be destined for a neutral game script, the ideal situation for a quarterback from a fantasy perspective. Give Manning those conditions against a secondary like this, and you'll be in for some fun on Monday night.

Manning's ownership doesn't figure to be too lofty, but I'd assume that Odell Beckham's will be. By this point in the season, most people are aware that the Dolphins are a team to target, and Beckham has been straight fire emojis recently. All receivers are volatile by nature as they have fewer opportunities than a quarterback or wide receiver, increasing the incentive to fade Beckham if he's highly owned. If his ownership tops 30 percent on the Thursday slates, then I'll likely start to look elsewhere. The hope here is that people gravitate toward Antonio Brown instead, as he is also in a sweet spot, leaving a Manning-to-Beckham stack viable.

If you do decide that you want to use Manning, but Beckham's ownership is too high, the only other mildly intriguing option I see is Will Tye. With Larry Donnell ending up on injured reserve, this is Tye's job to keep. In Donnell's absence, Tye has seen at least six targets three of the past four weeks with an average of 6.25 per game, and he has logged at least 65 percent of the snaps in each. With a price tag of $4,900 on FanDuel and $2,800 on DraftKings, he's a decent punt play, but I'd much rather just stomach the ownership on Beckham.
