Todd Gurley has become a solid cash game staple as of late given his outsized role in the St. Louis offense and his otherworldly talent. After a stretch of four games in Weeks 6 through 9 in which he ran for no fewer than 128 yards in a single game, he finally failed to cross the century-mark against the Minnesota Vikings, rushing for only 89 yards on 24 carries, though he did still find the end zone.

But Gurley has a good shot at bouncing back, if that's what we want to call it, this week, as he gets to run into the heart of the 31st ranked run defense of the Chicago Bears, who’ve given up 20.28 points above expectation per our Adjusted Defensive Rushing NEP metric on the ground alone. And Vegas projects this to be a low-scoring outing (42.5-point over/under) with a large 7-point spread. This is a good indication that the experts are forecasting a game where the Rams feed Gurley to protect a lead and chew up the clock.

With a weak run defense and a projected game script aligning to feed him the ball early and often, Gurley's about as safe as you can go at the position this weekend, making it worth it to fork over the extra dough to get him on your cash game squad.
