Karlos Williams, RB, Buffalo Bills

Karlos Williams continued to shine when given the opportunity in Week 3, spelling a seemingly injured Lesean McCoy by rushing for 110 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries. In terms of numberFire’s signature performance metric, Net Expected Points (NEP), Williams registered the second-highest Rushing NEP among all running backs in the league on Sunday, contributing 7.16 points above expectation.

In fact, Williams is currently sporting a 0.62 Rushing NEP per rush, by far the highest mark among all running backs in the league with at least 20 rushes. For reference, the league average for NFL running backs from year to year stands at around -0.02 Rushing NEP per rush, so Williams is absolutely crushing it efficiency-wise. And while regression will happen, he's definitely making the most of his opportunities right now.

And Williams may continue to have opportunities to prove his mettle. While the Bills haven't yet rested McCoy for a whole game yet, he's remained on the injury report, thus giving Williams some work. As long as McCoy remains on the injury report, Williams should be owned and could provide spot starts if you have running backs on your squad with soon-approaching bye weeks. And if McCoy goes down for any extended period of time, Williams could be your lottery ticket based on how good he's been so far.
