Philadelphia Eagles Passing Offense

Normally, when you think about the Philadelphia offense, you're thinking of volume. This is a matchup that can be centered around efficiency, as well, as the Dallas Cowboys struggled in that category a year ago.

In 2014, the Cowboys were certainly better than they were in 2013, but they still clocked in with a 23rd-place finish in Adjusted Defensive Passing NEP per play. They made offseason moves in an attempt to improve this, but injuries and suspensions have taken a toll on those moves.

The interesting thing here is that the Cowboys were largely effective last week against the New York Giants. They held Eli Manning to a -0.44 Passing NEP and made Odell Beckham Jr. disappear. It's certainly something to keep in mind, but there are several reasons this doesn't scare me out of the matchup.

First, even with Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez at quarterback last year, the Eagles finished ahead of the Giants in Adjusted Passing NEP per play. It's yet to be seen whether Sam Bradford is an improvement over those two, but it is at least of note.

Second, this game is in Philadelphia. The Eagles are favored by 7, and the over/under is 55. This puts their implied total at 31, whereas the Giants were at 22.25 last week.

Finally, whatever inefficiencies the Eagles may have on offense, they should be able to make up for in volume. They run so many plays that it's hard for their players not to bask in fantasy goodness. When they can combine the two elements, that's when you need to watch out.

Obviously, you're going to want to target Bradford and Jordan Matthews here. Even though the Eagles threw 52 times last week, Matthews still managed to garner 25 percent of the targets with his 13. That'll work.

You can stack these two at a pretty low cost, as well. Bradford is the 17th most expensive quarterback on FanDuel for this week at $7,500. Matthews is the 18th most expensive wide receiver at $7,000. The ownership will be high on these guys, but when the potential is so high, it can still totally be worth it.
