Latavius Murray, RB, Oakland Raiders

This recommendation comes with a huge stipulation: Latavius Murray ($3,800) went through the NFL’s required concussion protocol on Tuesday, and the results of that are unknown when this column was published.

It was reported by ESPN’s Adam Caplan that Murray was able to exercise this week, which is obviously a positive sign. If he’s able to go, he’s an absolute no-brainer play. He looked as explosive as any running back all season last Thursday against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Although he only carried the ball four times, he still managed 112 yards and 2 touchdowns. Not to mention, he appeared to be a threat to score each time he touched the ball.

It may sound crazy, but Murray’s performance last Thursday catapulted him to the tenth best running back in the NFL in terms of Rushing NEP. That’s just wild.

If Murray suits up, he’ll go against a relatively stout St. Louis Rams run defense that gives up the 12th-least points to running backs. Nevertheless, the Raiders don’t have the most potent aerial attack, and it should be expected that they’d lean on the run-game quite a bit if Murray can play.
