Michael Floyd, WR, Arizona Cardinals

Much has been made of the Michael Floyd's ($3,800) goose-egg performance last week against the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, he shattered many hopes and dreams of those who wanted to take advantage of his generous matchup against a pedestrian Philly secondary—including mine.

Floyd’s outing was so impactful that his price has dropped dramatically this week (by $1,100!). This is outstanding news for those of you who have the guts to play him again. Floyd was targeted three separate times down the field against the Eagles but was unable to make a play. Not to mention, he tweaked his knee early on in the game, so that may have impacted his performance.

Nevertheless, Floyd remains a viable option in Arizona’s passing attack, ranking second in Reception NEP on the team and tying for second in targets.

Floyd does have a tough matchup going up against the Cowboys secondary this week, who give up the fourth-least amount of fantasy points to wide receivers. However, Dallas could be in trouble if quarterback Tony Romo can’t go. The Cardinals have an opportunistic defense and could feast on Brandon Weeden, which would give the offense more opportunities. DeMarco Murray is probably good for another fumble in this one as well.

Honestly, of all the “punt” plays this week, Floyd probably has the most potential simply because of his ability to stretch the field, and because many people may shy away from him. Quarterback Carson Palmer loves to sling it, and Floyd could be the Cardinals player with the long touchdown this week.
