Emmanuel Sanders, Denver Broncos

A major issue facing fantasy football owners every season is the tendency to expect future results to mirror past results. Peyton Manning had the best statistical season by a quarterback in NFL history last season.

With Eric Decker gone, Emmanuel Sanders arrives and many are expecting busy as usual. But there’s where the disconnect begins. The fact is that Sanders and Decker are about as similar as a whale and a duck; one is a very efficient receiver, and the other is not.

Among 45 wide receivers who were targeted 100-plus times last season, Decker ranked 10th in Reception NEP per target, while Sanders ranked 44th. Assuming that Sanders will produce Decker-like numbers is simply a leap of faith we aren't willing to take.

Wes Welker’s recent concussion does present more opportunity for Sanders in the Bronco offense, but his current fifth-round ADP is still too high for our liking.
