Taylor Gabriel, WR, Chicago Bears

DraftKings Price: $4,200

Projected Points: 8.7

Projected Value (points per $1,000): 2.06

With the limited value this week, and the Chicago Bears' offense largely being forgotten for the past few weeks, their receiving options provide salary relief. Prior to Mitchell Trubisky’s injury, Taylor Gabriel was the team’s leading receiver. Anthony Miller's snap rate fluctuated in recent weeks where he played between 50% to 70%; Gabriel hasn’t played less than 70% of the snaps since Week 8. With Miller’s weaker target share and his snap rate in flux, Gabriel is the safer Bear to roster despite being similarly priced.

The Bears have gotten limited production from their quarterbacks over the last three weeks. Career backup Chase Daniel started for the team for a two-week period before Mitchell Trubisky made his return last week and struggled mightily -- which could just be rust. In the starting quarterback's second week back, the Bears are implied for the fifth-highest team total on the main slate at 25.5 points.

In Weeks 8 through 11, prior to Trubisky’s injury, Gabriel had a 20% target market share in three of the four games. He also had a air yards market share of 34% or more in three of those four games as well. Only wide receiver counterpart Allen Robinson had a higher WOPR in those weeks.

Gabriel has also been the most targeted receiver post Week 11, with shoddy production from Daniel and Trubisky. With Daniel’s play in the post Week 11 split, Gabriel has performed better with Trubisky. Per the Rotoviz game splits app, Gabriel averaged 2.1 more PPR points with Trubisky at the helm.

The Bears' opponent, the Green Bay Packers, aren’t highly regarded in our pass defense ranking, coming in at 21st. They struggle to contain wide receivers specifically, allowing 42.3 DraftKings points -- fourth-most in the league. If Chicago can get in the red zone, multiple passing touchdowns are in play, as they are top 10 in pass-to-run ratio inside the 20.

Gabriel, along with the entire Bears offense, may be the sleeping giant on the slate, with more inefficient offenses having stronger matchup plays. With Chicago posting a Sunday night dud on primetime, their ownership should be held down by recency bias as well.
