Michael Gallup, WR, Dallas Cowboys

DraftKings Price: $3,600

Projected Points: 6.6

Projected Value (points per $1,000): 1.83

With the 2018 Dallas Cowboys' version of the triplets exploding against the Philadelphia Eagles, the trio of Dak Prescott, Amari Cooper, and Ezekiel Elliott should be heavy chalk on the main slate. No doubt that the offense will continue to funnel production through these three, but Michael Gallup is still a contributor to the offense and will be a good pivot play over his anticipated popular teammates.

Despite seeing fewer targets than teammate Amari Cooper, their weighted opportunity rating (WOPR) -- which weighs target and air yards market share -- is very comparable. Gallup’s WOPR is 0.06 points fewer than Cooper’s 0.64 over their last three games. Gallup has only seen eight fewer targets during that time period.

Ezekiel Elliott will continue to get his volume as well, but this will be one of the harder matchups for the Cowboys’ run game that they will face in some time. The Indianapolis Colts are top 10 in rushing defense and will have the advantage of playing at home. With both teams faring well against the run here -- the Cowboys are second -- this could force the game script to be pass-happy for both teams.

Gallup’s been the deep threat that Dallas has lacked over the years. He has been the air yards hog for the team, having 40% of the market share at a 14.8 average depth of target (aDOT). To give a sense of how much he accounts for his team’s air yards, T.Y. Hilton, Kenny Golladay, and Davante Adams are players with similar shares in that category, and all of which are the leading receiver on their respective teams, yet Gallup is the secondary receiver on his. That is good company to keep.

At a very affordable price of $3,600, a deep touchdown pass to Gallup can pay off handsomely in tournaments where leverage can be easily gained over the field.
