Receiving Market Shares

1. Dante Pettis Is the Niners' Top Wideout

In Week 13, Dante Pettis stepped up to the tune of 5 receptions, 129 yards and 2 touchdowns on 7 targets. Pettis received only a 16.6% market share in the loss to the Seattle Seahawks, but he turned his opportunity into a dominant performance.

In the past two weeks, when Pierre Garcon and Marquise Goodwin have been out, Pettis has totaled 206 yards and 3 touchdowns. And in the past three games, Pettis has 13 receptions.

But what's really promising is how Pettis has dominated the San Francisco 49ers' air yards, holding a 38% air yards market share over the past two weeks, per airyards.com, which is (by far) the best number on the Niners. So while Pettis is not seeing huge volume in a low-scoring San Fran attack, the looks he is seeing are valuable ones.

With nothing to play for, the 49ers are unleashing their rookie wide receiver, and as long as Goodwin and Garcon remain out, Pettis is a viable fantasy option for the fantasy postseason.

2. Tyler Boyd Is Cincy's Man Again

On Sunday, Tyler Boyd helped fantasy owners with 24% market share, which led to 6 catches for 97 yards on 8 targets from Jeff Driskel. Boyd’s production should stay steady -- or possibly rise -- as the Cincinnati Bengals sent A.J. Green to injured reserve.

The Bengals’ season is lost. But Boyd has been a bright spot for Cincy, and his 8.1 targets per game include 19 looks over the past two games.

According to airyards.com, Boyd has seen a 22% target share on the season along with a 25% air yards market share -- good but not great numbers. But he's seen at least eight targets in four of the last five games, and even with Driskel under center, Boyd is a solid fantasy starter for the postseason, particularly in PPR leagues.
