Josh Allen is Still the Bills' Top Red Zone Back

Josh Allen's rushing production has absolutely exploded over the last couple of weeks, turning 22 carries into 234 yards and 1 touchdown since returning to the starting lineup in Week 12.

Rushing production, including touchdowns, isn't anything new for him though. Allen has played in eight games for the Buffalo Bills this season, recording a red zone rush attempt in six of the eight. He has at least two in five of the eight and averages 1.75 per game.

That may not seem like a lot of volume, but that is largely because the Bills just don't spend much time in the red zone. As a market share, those 14 carries account for 41.2% of the team's total in those games. He has a market share of at least 40% in five of his eight games.

For context, only 25 players have a red zone rush attempt market share above 41.2% on the season -- all running backs. If we just look at games they have played, Allen has a higher market share than LeSean McCoy's 36.7%, and a higher opportunity market share (27.5%) than McCoy (22.4%) as well.

When he's playing, Allen has been the Bills' top red zone threat, giving him big touchdown upside to go with the floor offered by his rushing yards.
