Detroit Lions vs. Los Angeles Rams

Over/Under: 54.5

Rams Implied Team Total: 32.25
Lions Implied Team Total: 22.25

Last time we saw the Los Angeles Rams, they were busy hanging 54 points on the Kansas City Chiefs in arguably the greatest regular season game of all time. While heading to play the slow-paced Detroit Lions on the road is far from ideal, the Rams have the second-highest implied team total of the entire slate and always should be in our plans. Unfortunately this article is written on Tuesday night, before we know some of the crucial injury news from Wednesday and Thursday practice reports. The status of Kerryon Johnson ($6,800; knee injury) will determine a lot on the Detroit side.

Jared Goff, QB, Los Angeles Rams
FanDuel Price: $8,400

Maybe this recommendation doesn't seem super creative, but it feels like Jared Goff could get overlooked this week with Patrick Mahomes ($9,500), Cam Newton ($8,700), Russell Wilson ($7,700), Lamar Jackson ($7,500) and other great quarterback options in great spots this week. The Lions have allowed the ninth-most points to quarterbacks this season despite having faced Sam Darnold ($6,600), Brock Osweiler and Chase Daniel ($6,000) already this season. Among quarterbacks on the main slate, Goff is the QB4 this year, and he's priced as such. With Todd Gurley slightly slowed by an ankle injury, it's possible Sean McVay rides the hot-hand of his quarterback again. Averaging 28.26 fantasy points per game, Goff is a rock-solid cash option with underrated GPP appeal.

Josh Reynolds, WR, Los Angeles Rams
FanDuel Price: $5,800

The cheapest GPP stack with Goff is Josh Reynolds, who is only $5,800 but has three touchdowns across just three starts this season. Most importantly, he saw a season-high eight targets last week. While Goff's volume won't be as high, it's clear Reynolds has a role in this offense. That alone makes him too cheap. Remember, Reynolds isn't just some random receiver. He's 6'3" with a strong athletic profile and an 87th-percentile catch radius.

Others to Consider

Todd Gurley ($9,800) is a weekly cash and GPP staple who's priced dropped after his Week 11 'dud.' He's always a must-play. As per usual, Brandin Cooks ($7,800) has a higher GPP ceiling while Robert Woods ($7,300) is a better cash option. Cooks should lock horns with Darius Slay, while Woods is $500 cheaper. Ultimately, both are great plays attached to a large team total.

Both Gerald Everett ($4,800) and Michael Roberts ($4,200) are low-floor GPP darts with elevated touchdown-upside given the absences of Cooper Kupp and Marvin Jones, respectively.

If Kerryon Johnson plays, he's absolutely a cash and GPP option at this price, especially because the Rams rank as the fifth-worst run defense per numberFire's Net Expected Points model. If not, LeGarrette Blount ($5,600) has some touchdown upside in GPPs, but his lack of usage in the passing game will keep his volume limited as a 10-point underdog. Theo Riddick ($5,300) should also get some nice volume, as he has at least 6 targets in each of his last four games (7.0 per) and there should be plenty of passing volume to go around while playing from behind.

Matthew Stafford ($6,700) garners legitimate GPP appeal at this near-basement price. Losing Marvin Jones hurts, but the Rams should force Stafford to throw a ton. His floor is far too low for cash, but Kerryon's presence would help keep him in GPP consideration.

In a game Stafford is projected to throw a lot, Kenny Golladay ($7,300) is squarely in play as a cash option. He's averaging 12 targets per game with Jones out of the lineup, implying his price might actually still be a tad low. Hopefully he gets to face a ton of Marcus Peters. Bruce Ellington ($4,900) is a sneaky low-ceiling receiver play at this price. He has six catches in each of his first two games as a Lion.
