Receiving Market Shares

1. Tyler Lockett Making Most of Targets

It seemed only a matter of time before Tyler Lockett would concede targets and looks to teammate Doug Baldwin. But as the season has gone on, and Baldwin’s perpetual questionable tag lingers, Lockett is still the Seattle Seahawks' most exciting downfield receiver.

On Sunday, Lockett caught all 5 targets for 107 yards and 1 touchdown. Baldwin got 7 targets, but he totaled just 39 yards as the team's short-to-intermediate guy.

Lockett is only averaging 4.9 targets per game and Baldwin 5.1, with David Moore a distant 3.1, according to Fantasy Pros. But Lockett is stretching the field and making the most of those deep shots.

Lockett’s usage soared earlier in the season with a hobbled Baldwin. But with a reasonably healthy Baldwin playing, Lockett is still drawing many favorable looks and putting them to great use.

At a 17% market share for the 'Hawks, Lockett’s opportunities aren't as large as other receivers, but his 8 touchdowns on 51 targets lead Seattle by far, and he has 631 air yards according to airyards.com. Lockett sits as a high ceiling wide receiver two and could easily win you your week.

2. Kenny Golladay on the Rise

First, Golden Tate was shipped out of town, and now, Marvin Jones is lost for the season. Kenny Golladay's target share was steady, but now it’s going nuclear.

With a 20% market share through Week 12, Golladay has worked in the shadows. But his 1018 air yards (airyards.com) and 5 touchdowns are set to increase drastically. His 302 yards after catch have been impressive, especially with his 83 targets set to increase at a rapid pace.

Golladay was hot early in the season and then confusingly cooled off, often left out of Detroit's key game plans. But his receiving market shares are on the rise and he’s quickly become the only game in town.

On Sunday, Golladay’s 8 targets, for 5 catches and 90 yards opened up the beginning of what should be a big market share change to end the season. Golladay has low-end number one receiver upside and is a solid number-two now on his worst days.
