Eric Ebron, TE, Indiannapolis Colts

Yahoo Ownership: 93%

I'll preface this by saying I am a big fan and believer in Eric Ebron. I didn't think he got a fair shake in Detroit and actually thought the Indianapolis Colts presented a great opportunity for the young tight end to shine. So when he did shine, I was obviously thrilled.

But now we need to dial it back. His production this season has not been without its caveats. The team's primary tight end, Jack Doyle, missed a chunk of the season, which is really what allowed Ebron to shine. Their top wide receiver T.Y. Hilton missed a couple games in there, too. In those games without Doyle and with a hobbled Hilton, Ebron averaged an incredible 10.0 targets and 0.8 touchdowns per game. He was an elite play at tight end during that time -- and strangely, even for a wonky two games after Doyle's return on the back of touchdowns alone.

However, despite those touchdowns it's clear the Colts prefer Doyle to Ebron. Ebron saw just three targets in each of Doyle's first two games back and zero in last week's colossal bust. His snaps have plummeted to under 40% per game in that time, so he's barely even seeing the field. Doyle's production since his return hasn't been amazing, but his presence dramatically caps Ebron's upside.

There's always a chance for him to score when Andrew Luck is throwing him the ball -- this is the same quarterback that turned Dwayne Allen into an eight-touchdown fantasy beast back in 2014. But he really isn't getting the kind of consistent opportunities you need in order to be able to rely on him in fantasy football.

You can hang onto him if you feel like rolling the dice with one of the league's hottest offenses, but you have to know that more zeroes are within his range of outcomes. If you're like most fantasy managers and are not into players who see fewer than three targets a game, you can drop Ebron.
