Blake Bortles, QB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Projected Points: 17.1

We are going to be digging deep here down in the bargain bin to find none other than Blake Bortles, who’s in the bottom third of the QB price range. The Jacksonville Jaguars have had some up and downs this season -- some attributable to Blake, no doubt -- but we don’t care so much about “real” quarterback play than we do his fantasy statistics.

Cam Newton gets a lot of love within the fantasy community for his rushing ability, but guess who’s behind him? That’s right, Bortles is tied for second in the league in total rush attempts, averaging 4.4 per game. If you’ve been reading the weekly bargain bin column, you know by now that quarterbacks that can run have inherently higher floors that seemingly gets overlooked.

The pace of this game also should be the best in Week 10, which will allow both teams to run extra plays or give back additional possessions. The opposition, the Indianapolis Colts, are one of the faster teams in the league by seconds per play, ranking first in Football Outsiders' ranks, while Jacksonville is fourth. No other game in Week 10 has two teams within the top 10. We should see a good amount of plays run from both offenses, which is reflected in the 47.0-point total.

Jacksonville is a pass-heavy team, which is strange given that the team endorses a “ground and pound” philosophy, but they are fifth in pass-to-run ratio and fourth when in the red zone. This is reflected in Bortles' games this year, as he has hit 300 yards or more in half of the games played.

Bortles makes for a nice salary saver at quarterback this week if DFS players are looking to punt at the position.
