Nelson Agholor, WR, Philadelphia Eagles

Yahoo Ownership: 50%

Nelson Agholor's breakout in 2017 was one of my personal favorite storylines from that season. If you haven't already heard about it, here's a brief recap: young college stud gets drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft, but struggles mightily with drops and mental errors in his first two seasons. He visits a sports psychologist, gets back on track, and helps lead his team to their very first Super Bowl victory. Great story, right?

Coming into this season, Agholor seemed primed for a huge season. Alshon Jeffery was slated to miss the first few weeks while recovering from shoulder injury, opening up a huge opportunity in the offense. But while Agholor did eat up that open opportunity, he did little with it. In fact, despite being on pace for a career-high 122 targets, he's on pace for just 744 receiving yards. His usage has dipped severely since Jeffery returned, while his efficiency has spiked in that same time period -- it appears he's best used as a complimentary piece in the offense, not as top receiving option.

Rookie tight end Dallas Goedert has worked his way into playing about 50% of the team's offensive snaps, and just last week the Philadelphia Eagles traded for slot super-star Golden Tate. Agholor has predominantly operated in the slot, and now faces serious competition for opportunities in the area of the field where he's had the most success.

Things were trending downward for Nelson Agholor already, but the trade for Golden Tate seals the deal. You can safely drop Nelson Agholor from your fantasy rosters.
