Nick Chubb, RB, Cleveland Browns

DraftKings Price: $4,500

Projected Points: 14.59

Projected Value (points per $1,000): 3.24

DraftKings has continued to price up running backs and fringe backups above the $5,000 range, leaving only backups that have shaky usage underneath that price. With that said, Nick Chubb could be an interesting option this week, particularly in tournament settings.

Chubb is not the archetype that is normally highly owned on a PPR focused site, as he hasn't shown the ability to be targeted at a high rate at the pro level -- let alone during his time at Georgia. On the season, Chubb has only collected six targets. If there is a silver lining in his receiving ability, he hasn't gone a game without a target since Carlos Hyde was traded, and Duke Johnson hasn't eaten into his touches and snaps.

What has been promising with Chubb are his rush totals, having 18 carries in each of the last two games, despite Cleveland trailing in the second half against the Steelers in Week 8. The volume has been there and he's been effective, with an above average 44.2% Success Rate.

The Cleveland Browns are heavy underdogs in their game against the Kansas City Chiefs, so the game script could easily be flipped against Chubb, and the lack of receiving ability will make it harder to salvage any projected volume. Chubb will be playing at home, though, where running backs have historically fared better.

The matchup will also be there for him to succeed, as the Chiefs have not been good against running backs this season. Their defense has allowed 5.3 yards per carry and comes in as the worst rushing defense based on numberFire's rankings.
