Wide Receiver

Chalk

It's starting to get harder and harder to not roster Adam Thielen on a weekly basis:

With a high floor and a massive ceiling in his 2018 game log, Thielen is bound to be a chalky choice. Rostering a wide receiver that has recorded double-digit targets in every game this year never makes for a bad choice.

Similar to the quarterback slot, we can also eye the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams contest and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns contests, as they are projected for 50 points or more.

Given they are likely to be involved in high-scoring affairs, Brandin Cooks, Marquise Goodwin, DeSean Jackson, Mike Evans, and Jarvis Landry should be heavily owned.

Pivot

Jermaine Kearse, New York Jets: $5,000 (vs Minnesota Vikings)

Last season, the Minnesota Vikings used a ferocious defense to work their way to the NFC Championship Game, and that was also reflected in their fantasy value. In looking at Pro Football Reference's FanDuel points allowed to wide receivers in 2017, Minnesota ranked ninth-best (23.3 per game).

That has not been the case in 2018. That mark has bumped up five FanDuel points (28.3), and while that doesn't put them in the category of the Saints (44.1) or Bucs (41.3), they rank 25th in our per-play passing metrics. Even though it was against an elite offense, they were torched in Week 4 by Cooper Kupp (9 catches, 162 yards, 1 TD).

One player likely to go overlooked is slot-man Jermaine Kearse. Prior to last week, Kearse only had seven catches to his name, but a move to the slot with an injury to Quincy Enunwa seemed to reinvigorate the wide receiver, who turned 10 targets into 9 catches for 94 receiving yards.

While Kearse is pegged for only 8.7 FanDuel points, his upside potential of 19.7 FanDuel points at an affordable price tag makes him extremely appealing.
