Tight End

Chalk

The three biggest tight end names -- Travis Kelce, Rob Gronkowski, and Zach Ertz -- have either already played or aren't playing on the main slate. That means an already thin position is even thinner this week, so people are going to have to look to some alternatives.

Though I hate to go on and on about one game, it would be no surprise to see Cameron Brate with one of the highest ownership percentages this week. Not only is Brate in a game that should be a surefire shootout, but with O.J. Howard out, he'll have the starting tight end spot all to himself. He'll also be getting throw to by Winston, who he has a much longer rapport with than Ryan Fitzpatrick.

That alone would be enough to drive people his way, but he's also priced at just $4,500, which means he's saving you $2,000 from a guy like Eric Ebron. Ebron should be popular as well, but that discount is going to be very appealing to a lot of people this week.

Pivot

C.J. Uzomah, Cincinnati Bengals: $5,100 (vs Pittsburgh Steelers)

Cincinnati Bengals tight end C.J. Uzomah was the eighth highest-owned tight end during FanDuel's Week 5 Sunday Million. Of course, that meant that only 2.41% of lineups had him in there.

This week's matchup against a Pittsburgh Steelers defense that has allowed 16.08 FanDuel points per game to tight ends should help make that percentage climb. Pittsburgh has allowed 40 receptions to the position, which is 6 more than the next-closest team.

Four opposing tight ends have caught at least five passes against them this year, and five have scored in double-digits in half-point PPR leagues.

We know that Tyler Eifert is out, and Tyler Kroft and Giovani Bernard have been ruled out as well, all of which should open up a lot of opportunity for Uzomah in the passing game this week.

His $5,100 may seem a bit steep to people when more proven guys like Brate and Vance McDonald are at a $500 to $600 discount, but he'll still free up room to help you get guys like Gurley onto your lineup, who seems like a near must-play at this point.

We have Uzomah projected for an upside of 14.0 FanDuel points this week, which would approach a value of nearly 2.8 points per $1,000. He has the opportunity and matchup to make something happen this week. Don't be afraid to use him.
