In their two home games this season, the New York Jets' defense has been stout. They allowed just a total of 36 points to the Dolphins and Broncos while their frontline created havoc with 8 sacks. They also forced five fumbles (and recovered two) as they limited the passing attack of Denver and Miami to just 168 yards each. This week, the Indianapolis Colts come to the Meadowlands with a shaky offensive line ripe for a pummeling.

In the last two games, Andrew Luck has been under seemingly constant pressure, getting sacked five times. For the year, he has been hit 38 times, 5th-most in the league. The repeated hits have caused the Colts to pile up the mistakes. Their nine turnovers (five interceptions, four fumbles lost) are the fifth-most among all teams. All those errors have limited their scoring ability as they have surpassed 24 points just once this season. If we removed their 34-point overtime outburst against the Houston Texans two weeks ago, the Colts are averaging only 21.0 points per game, which would place them in the bottom-10 of the league.

Add in the Jets being a 2.5-point favorite, plus the Colts' owning a putrid implied score of 21.25, and the game script is lining up nicely for New York this week.
