The Los Angeles Chargers are slight road favorites over the Cleveland Browns. Normally, a game with a weak 44.5-point total and the road team being favored by 1.0 point would not lead to fantasy goodness. For the most part, this rings true for this game as well, however, due to the price hike given to Todd Gurley, it appears that Melvin Gordon could provide us with a nice pivot opportunity while saving us $1,800.

Gordon is projected to score 0.7 fewer fantasy points than Todd Gurley. If these projections come to fruition, then Melvin would be tremendous value as an RB1 on DraftKings.

The Cleveland Browns have played solid defense this season, allowing just 21.4 points per game to opposing teams (10th-fewest in the NFL). However, they have had their troubles with opposing running backs. In 2018, the Browns have allowed opposing running backs to rush for 107.4 yards per game and tack on another 50.8 yards receiving per game. Opposing backs have been targeted 8.0 times per game and have a 70% catch rate against the Browns defense.

Melvin Gordon is a tremendous all-purpose back and with a lock and load role for the team. He provides a nice salary relief off of Todd Gurley and gives us a secure floor and strong ceiling at his price tag.
