Here we are with our second player from a game with a middling 44.5 point over/under. Again, similar to Melvin Gordon, it comes down to opportunity cost and price tag. David Njoku is rounding into form as a legit weapons for the Browns and likely gets a massive price bump if he has a great game in Week 6.
Njoku has sopped up 21.4% of his teams targets over the last two games, correlating with when Baker Mayfield took over as the starting quarterback for the Browns. His price-tag is just $3,800 and our models project him to score only 1.5 fewer DraftKings points than the volatile Jared Cook, who is currently our highest-projected scoring tight end, and who also has a price tag of $5,000.
Njoku has played 82% of the snaps in 2018 and has averaged 55.6 air yards per game, which is actually the third highest rate on the main slate. The only thing lacking is the red zone targets, where Njoku has not received a single look.
We have slim pickings at the tight-end position this week and Njoku represents strong value with a high upside. He likely will have volatile production from week to week and although he might not be a true stud, yet, his arrow is pointing up.
