James Conner Tallies Second Game of 150 Yards and 2 Scores

There was speculation early in the week that Le'Veon Bell may return to the Pittsburgh Steelers before Week 7. If this news had bothered James Conner, he certainly didn't let it show on Sunday.

Conner finished with a position-leading 34.5 PPR points, thanks to his 110 rushing yards, 75 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns against the Atlanta Falcons. It was the second time Conner had managed at least 100 yards on the ground, 50 through the air and 2 scores, after also accomplishing the feat in Week 1. Conner joined the legendary Jim Brown as the only players to manage two of these games in a team's opening five games of a season.

Conner, who was drafted by the Steelers in 2017, is only the first- or second-year player to have multiple games with 100-plus rushing yards, 50-plus receiving yards and 2 touchdown games in a single season. The only player to manage this previous to Conner was Chris Johnson in 2009.

If the reports are true, and Bell does return in Week 7, the Week 6 game for Conner against the Cincinnati Bengals may be the end of his monopoly on the Steelers backfield (assuming the Steelers welcome Bell back with open arms). If it is the end of this run, then Conner has a great chance of going out with a bang. The Bengals have allowed at least 22.2 PPR points to running backs in every game this season. With Conner enjoying a league-leading share (76.6%) of the team rushes, all those points could be his.
