Wide Receiver

Chalk

There are a trio of options who should be very popular in tournaments on Sunday. The first two -- Michael Thomas and Julio Jones -- face off against each other.

Thomas' production has been at a different level than any other receiver this season. His 28 receptions are 8 more than second-place Jarvis Landry, who has already played a third game. He has caught an astounding 93.3% of his passes, second to only DeSean Jackson, a player who has only seen 9 targets thus far. Given that Thomas is catching everything, it's not shocking to see Drew Brees once again leading the league in completion percentage.

Jones got off to a fast start in Week 1, when he caught 10 passes on 19 looks for 169 yards and a score. He fell back to earth in a Week 2 matchup against the Carolina Panthers, but he'll look to rebound this week against a New Orleans Saints defense that is allowing 51.0 FanDuel points per game to opposing wideouts, worst in the league.

The third wideout the masses may flock to in GPPs is Tyreek Hill. It's been said before, but with his speed and Patrick Mahomes arm, big performances should be expected, not exceptions. He faces a 49ers defense that has given up the eighth-most points per game to opposing receivers.

Pivot

Larry Fitzgerald, Arizona Cardinals: $6,700 (vs Chicago Bears)

The Arizona Cardinals have scored a combined six points through two games. The Buffalo Bills, widely considered to be the worst team in the league, have scored 23. Needless to say, things are not going well in the desert.

They have another tough matchup this week when the Khalil Mack-led Bears defense comes to town. The Bears' four total takeaways are tied for sixth in the league. Their rushing defense has given up just 9.15 FanDuel points per game, by far the fewest in the league. They've been able to be taken advantage in the passing game, however, especially by slot receivers.

The Bears are giving up the fourth-most FanDuel points to opposing wide receivers this year and have given up touchdowns to four different players. The receivers who have done best against them in the first two weeks are Randall Cobb and Tyler Lockett, who have run the vast majority of their routes from the slot. That presages a solid outing for Fitz, who has been in the slot on 89.1% of his routes this year.

Fitzgerald's 15 targets lead the Cardinals, despite the fact that he was on the field for only 58% of their offensive snaps in Week 2. He exited Week 2 with a hamstring injury, but he practiced Thursday and is expected to play.

We project Fitz to score 11.7 FanDuel points this week, but we have his upside at 21.0, which equates to a value of 3.1 points per $1,000. Coupled with his low ownership, Fitz could be the type of player who takes your roster from an also ran to a winner.
