Eric Ebron, Indianapolis Colts

After being selected in the first round (10th overall) by the Detroit Lions in 2014, there has been plenty of hype -- in real life and fantasy -- for Eric Ebron. Unfortunately for the former Tar Heel, injuries were a constant story, forcing the Lions to cut bait. The tight end found new life this offseason though, landing with the Indianapolis Colts.

In his first regular season game in Indy, Ebron served as the second tight end behind Jack Doyle but still saw plenty of action, making him relevant in fantasy. Ebron was targeted 5 times, hauling in 4 of them for 51 yards and a touchdown. Those numbers were generous enough to allow Ebron to finish in the top-four of all tight ends in fantasy production in Week 1. While we shouldn't expect top-five production again in Week 2, the Colts opponent, the Washington Redskins, shape up as a favorable matchup for the tight end.

Washington in 2017 allowed the sixth-most fantasy points and fourth-most receiving yards to the tight end position. They are also 5-point favorites on Sunday, leading to a possibly pass-heavy attack for the Colts. That would allow both Doyle and Ebron to see plenty of looks, making the latter a nice play for those in need of a starter in deep leagues.
