Where Will Willy Fall?

Will Hernandez is an exciting offensive guard prospect out of UTEP, where, from 2014 on, he started all 37 of the Miners' games at left guard. His thick 6-foot-2, 327-pound frame shows obvious power but belies a quickness and lightness on his feet that one would expect from a performing arts graduate more so than a West Texas football mauler.

Hernandez was widely expected to go in the first round, ranking as the second-best guard prospect in the class, according to NFL Draft Scout's Dane Brugler. Accordingly, he was projected to be a target for the Denver Broncos or Carolina Panthers.

With many other teams still in dire need for interior offensive linemen, it would be a shock to see Hernandez fall out of the second round. too. The New York Giants seem to be building around their ground game and hold the 34th selection in the draft (second pick of Round 2). He would immediately upgrade their fourth-worst schedule-adjusted Rushing NEP per play from 2017.

If the G-Men decline, he shouldn't get past picks 36 to 40, which are full of teams in need of offensive line help.
