Chicago Bears - Mike Glennon

Cap Savings: $11,500,000

Dead Money: $4,500,000

The offense of the 2017 Chicago Bears was not going to go down in the annals of great units in NFL history, regardless of whether it was Mike Glennon or Mitchell Trubisky at quarterback. But while Trubisky was able to make the odd play here and there, Glennon was quite bad before he was benched.

His -0.09 Passing NEP per drop back ranked 37th among the 45 passers with at least 100 drop backs, and his touchdown rate (2.9%) was lower than his interception rate (3.6%). The Bears will no doubt hope that Trubisky is fit to play all 16 games in 2018, but they could do with an upgrade at backup quarterback. Plus, $11.5 in savings would likely do more for the Bears than having Glennon ever would.
