Adrian Peterson has seen a monster workload since joining the Cardinals, averaging 21.8 carries per game since arriving in Arizona in Week 6, topping 20 carries in three of those five games. He has also handled a huge portion of their red zone work, getting 16 of the 18 red zone carries for Cardinals' running backs, and toting the rock on 46% of their snaps inside the opposing 10-yard line. Even negative game scripts haven't been too hard on him, as he's averaging 15.3 carries per game in Arizona losses.
Of course, efficiency has been a huge red-flag for Peterson -- something that is always going to be a concern against the terrific Jacksonville Jaguars defense -- but that's why you're able to get a back with such significant volume at such a low price-point here.
Peterson's workload and salary make him something of a unique fantasy option this week. Volume is a far more stable and consistent factor than efficiency is, and his workload gives him a decent floor even in a nightmare matchup -- especially while handling so much of the Cards' goal line work. Even if he has a bad game overall, he has a strong chance of salvaging the fantasy performance with a touchdown.
