Kansas City Chiefs vs. New York Giants

Over/Under: 43.5

Chiefs Implied Team Total: 27.00

Giants Implied Team Total: 16.50

The Kansas City Chiefs are set to visit the New York Giants in a showdown between two struggling teams. The Chiefs have dropped three of their last four contests after jumping out to a 5-0 start, while the Giants have sputtered to a 1-8 start.

Both teams desperately need a win for entirely different reasons, but the Chiefs are 10.5-point favorites. In a projected blowout, several players could return significant value.

Kareem Hunt, RB, Kansas City Chiefs

FanDuel Price: $8,600

It probably seems ridiculous that I'm telling you to start the NFL's second leading rusher, but this is the situation we find ourselves in with Kareem Hunt. For starters, the rookie hasn't found the end zone since Week 3. Furthermore, after racking up 717 rushing yards and 285 receiving yards over the first seven weeks, Hunt's workload and production have waned considerably over his last two starts.

This is the week where the Toledo product should get back on track, though. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is notorious for his ability to make adjustments, and his 16-2 record coming off the bye is proof of that. The Giants' defense is allowing 22.2 FanDuel points per contest (tied for eighth-worst) to opposing runners. If the Chiefs build an early lead (as they are expected to), Hunt could be in for a monster second-half workload (where he's done most of his damage), and a return to high-end production is likely in order.

Sterling Shepard, WR, New York Giants

FanDuel Price: $6,500

Sterling Shepard is coming off the finest game of his NFL career after hauling in 11 of 13 targets form 142 yards during last weekend's loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Shepard has now posted 16 catches for 212 yards over his last two games since returning from an ankle injury.

While he's unlikely to replicate last week's heroics any time soon, he draws a tantalizing matchup against a Chiefs defense that is surrendering the most FanDuel points per contest (35.1) to opposing receivers. As a considerable underdog, the Giants will likely have to throw early and often. With Odell Beckham and Brandon Marshall on injured reserve, Shepard remains the team's only healthy option at receiver and will continue to absorb a healthy number of targets.

Others to Consider

Travis Kelce ($7,500) leads all tight ends with 629 receiving yards, has scored a touchdown in three straight games, and has received 10 or more targets in three of his last five contests. He now faces a crumbling Giants defense that has surrendered 15.1 FanDuel points per contest (second-most) to opposing tight ends. Is he expensive as the TE3? Certainly, but there is no tight end I'd feel more comfortable with this week.

Having said that, I'm pretty comfortable with Evan Engram ($7,400), too. The 23-year-old has completely dispelled the notion that rookie tight ends don't produce, racking up 40 receptions for 443 yards and 5 touchdowns this year. Kansas City isn't an inviting tight end matchup, but Engram has found the end zone in four straight contests while seeing 38 targets during that same span.
