New York Jets vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Over/Under: 41.5

Jets Implied Team Total: 22.00

Buccaneers Implied Team Total: 19.50

The New York Jets have been a legitimate surprise in 2017, providing stiff competition to all opponents and coasting to a respectable 4-5 start. Their opponents, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, have been equally surprising, but not in the way they'd hoped, struggling to a 2-6 record.

Making matters worse, the Bucs have decided to keep Jameis Winston on the sideline over the next few weeks, giving his injured shoulder a chance to heal. Oh, and top wideout Mike Evans has been suspended for one game for blindsiding New Orleans cornerback Marshon Lattimore last weekend. It's not looking like a good week for the Bucs in fantasy football.

Now the Jets, on the other hand...

Josh McCown, QB, New York Jets

FanDuel Price: $7,400

For season-long players, Josh McCown is a midseason candidate for quarterback streamer of the year. The 38-year-old veteran has been stunningly effective for fantasy purposes, having tossed 10 touchdown passes and rushing for 2 additional scores over his last five contests. Perhaps his most impressive achievement is a sparkling 70.4 completion percentage, the second-highest number in the league.

His run of success is likely to continue against a struggling Buccaneers defense that is surrendering 19.5 FanDuel points per contest (seventh-most) to opposing signal callers. McCown is often dismissed because of his age and reputation as a journeyman, but he's actually one of the most productive quarterbacks in the game right now. In a tasty matchup and at QB14 cost, he represents a savvy investment.

Robby Anderson, WR, New York Jets

FanDuel Price: $6,500

A big reason for McCown's success has been the emergence of sophomore wide receiver Robby Anderson. Through nine games, Anderson has accumulated 31 receptions, 483 yards, and 4 touchdowns, and has clearly established himself as the Jets' top wideout. Although he is often overlooked, the former undrafted free agent has been quietly productive for some time now, securing 13 of his last 16 targets for 187 yards and 3 touchdowns.

Anderson could extend his three-game scoring streak in Week 10, as the Bucs have permitted 32.2 FanDuel points per contest (third-most) to opposing receivers. In spite of his recent success, Anderson remains inexpensive and can be played for WR21 cost. There might not be a better time to start him all season.

Others to Consider

The Bucs' defense is allowing 23.8 FanDuel points per game to opposing runners (tied for third-most), but trying to figure out whether to start Bilal Powell ($6,000) or Matt Forte ($5,600) will be difficult. Last week was a Forte game, as the veteran scored twice and produced his best outing of the season. The Jets will likely give him a chance to build on that success, but Powell will see plenty of touches a week after averaging an insane 8.2 yards per carry.

Austin Seferian-Jenkins ($6,000) is enjoying a breakout campaign and his 33 receptions lead the team. However, as poorly as the Bucs' pass defense has performed, they have been stingy against tight ends, allowing only 8.0 FanDuel points per contest (tied for fifth-least) to the position. At TE5 cost, this is a risky investment.
