Running Back

Chalk

Watson's injury not only has repercussions at quarterback, but in all positions.

If he had been in, Lamar Miller would likely have been one of the highest-owned running backs, especially after his monster Week 8. His numbers will certainly drop from what they would have been, but he should still be in a fair amount of lineups as he faces an Indianapolis Colts defense that is giving up the second-most FanDuel points per game to the position.

Adrian Peterson will likely get a lot of looks given his matchup against the San Francisco 49ers' league-worst rushing defense. Towards the higher end, Mark Ingram could get the most looks with his recent consistency, heavy workload, and a high-scoring game on tap.

Pivots

Christian McCaffrey, $6,100 (vs. Atlanta Falcons)

Christian McCaffrey will likely be a very popular play on full PPR sites like DraftKings, but he should have less appeal to the masses on FanDuel where receptions are worth less. He has a number of things working for him this week, though.

First off, his price is a steal. At $6,100, he is the 17th-ranked running back, yet he averages the 11th-most points of those players. Secondly, he is consistently targeted by Cam Newton. His 49 catches are the most of any back this season and are the third-most in the league. Thirdly, the Atlanta Falcons are once again one of the most generous defenses to pass-catching backs. They have given up the most receptions per game to opposing running backs and are the eighth-worst team against the run by our metrics.

With these powers combined, McCaffrey has an excellent chance at busting out with his best game of the season.
